Location
Take Bus 36 from the Changi Airport Terminal 2 and stop at the 6th stop (No. 93029 Mandarin Gardens). Our hostel is about 6 minutes away from the bus stop (by walking). There is only one public bus system in Singapore under Singapore Bus Services (SBS), so look for SBS Bus 36.
Directions from Mandarin Garden bus stop:
- Cross the road and walk left-wards. You will see a pathway going into East Coast Kerris estate on your right .
- Turn into it and walk straight till the end of the road at a T-junction call East Coast Ave. Turn left.
- Walk straight and turn right into East Coast Dr.
- Walk straight till you reach the main road and we are just opposite the road!
If you are taking a taxi, it will cost approximately SGD 12.00.
The airport shuttle will be SGD 9.00. Please enquire at the Changi Airport Shuttle counter at the arrival halls of any of the terminals.

Welcome all to Fern Loft Backpacker Hostel!!! Fern Loft is a well-maintained budget hostel.
We are strategically located along East Coast Road. This area has evolved from an old traditional kampong (village) to a lively, exciting and colorful multi-national and cultural habitat for both the locals and expatriates.
Our eastern location offers several unique advantages; We are only ten minutes drive from the airport (great savings on airport transfer). For those who enjoy the sun and the sea, we are the only hostel near the beach (15 minutes stroll). You can choose to engage in sea sports, cycling, roller blade, or simply lazing the day away at the beach.
Singapore is known as a multicultural food paradise. At Fern Loft, you will find a belt of eateries nearby, offering the best of local cuisines such as Chinese, Indian, Malay, Peranakan and exotic seafood. Variety is among the widest and prices are also among the lowest you can find on this island.
To town is never easier - we are just 8km to the bustling downtown (Chinatown,Little India and Merlion Park, Orchard Road etc). There is a well-connected public bus system that ferries you to town at incredible low price and without fuss. We are also just 10 min drive from the airport.
Fern Loft also enjoys close proximity to amenities such as shopping mall, supermarket, clinics, banks, post office, photo shops and 24hrs convenient store.
It is also worth mentioning our in-house facilities, which include, free use of pantry, free breakfast, internet access, bicycle rental and the best of all, we have an in-house Balinese pub, located just below the hostel. The pub offers wide range of international cocktail, beer and lives music. Backpackers enjoy exclusive prices all night long, so that you may party the night away without burning a hole in your pocket!

A quirky little hostel with a load of character, located above a nice little bar that plays good music and serves some nice food. The hostel itself was fantastic, clean, free tea, coffee and breakfast. The staff seem to go out of their way to help you and make you feel at home. The hostel was one of the cheapest I found for my trip and is located close and within easy access to the Changi airport. I would strongly recommend this place!
